The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to locate, screen, and propose three qualified candidates each year to serve on the UUCV board. The nominated candidates stand for election at the annual meeting in May and serve a three-year term.

The committee serves the congregation rather than the minister or Board, and is unique in that regard. There also is a process stipulated in the Bylaws that allows members to propose additional candidates to those nominated by the committee.

A strength of the committee is that it reflects and represents a broad range of members with varied experiences in shared ministry.

UUCV members can support the Nominating Committee by suggesting possible candidates, including themselves, for the Board. While the committee itself is currently at its full complement of five members, new representatives could be accommodated as experienced ones retire. If you are interested in more information, please check the UUCV website or email [email protected]

UUCV is an important community, both to its congregation and to the region. To maintain our viability, we rely upon the generosity of our members and friends. Please continue to offer your time, talents, and treasure in support of the church and its work.
