The Judy Welles Endowment Fund

of the

Unitarian Universalists of the Cumberland Valley

Would you like to make a contribution in memory of someone, in honor of someone, or in thanks to someone? Would you like to leave a legacy to UUCV? A gift to the Judy Welles Endowment Fund (JWEF) will allow you to do all of these things.

Whether you are making a one-time donation by check, writing your first will, updating an existing will, or designating a beneficiary on your retirement account, life insurance policy, savings account, donor advised fund, or commercial annuity, a gift to the JWEF is your opportunity to contribute to the longevity of our beloved community.

The Judy Welles Endowment Fund is a permanent endowment fund for the benefit of UUCV. It is named in honor of Judy Welles, who, along with her husband Duane Fickeisen, were our first ministers and served UUCV for 14 years. In 2020, when Judy died, her brother, John Clymer, provided $100,000 to begin the endowment in Judy’s name. As of 2021, the JWEF has grown to over $115,000.

The principal of the JWEF is invested with the Unitarian Universalist Common Endowment Fund (UUCEF), the legacy arm of the UUA in which investment decisions reflect our Unitarian Universalist values. Beginning in February 2022, income from the Endowment will be spent for special and general purposes as determined by the congregation.

Contributions to the Judy Welles Endowment Fund can be made via a check payable to UUCV and mailed to PO Box 207, Boiling Springs, PA 17007. Be sure to note JWEF in the memo line as well as any details regarding the person you would like to honor or in whose memory the gift is made.

Legacy gifts may also be made via wire transfer directly to our bank. Please contact the UUCV Office Administrator at [email protected] for details. The UUA Office of Legacy Gifts provides additional information regarding planned giving options.

The current and future members of our beloved Unitarian Universalists of the Cumberland Valley thank you for your contributions!
