A WORD FROM THE MINISTER

Beloveds,
Every generation is given a moment.
Not a perfect moment.
Not a calm moment.
But a moment that calls us to courage, generosity, and Love.

This is our moment. At UUCV, we are choosing to meet this moment faithfully. When the world around us is on fire and hate may feel at times stronger than Love, we gather. We sing. We teach our children about their worth and dignity. We accompany one another in grief. We meet the justice in how we show up in our community. We practice pluralism and belonging. We care for one another and transform the world in the process.

This kind of community we have at UUCV does not happen by accident.

It happens because we commit to it. It happens because we know we are not perfect, that we will disagree, and we choose Love again and again.

Your pledge is an act of alignment between your values and your resources. It is how we sustain our mission, worship, pastoral care, music, faith formation, justice work in the Cumberland Valley, and so much more.

Give what you can, give how you can, and know that it is received in Love and care.

Thank you for showing up.
Rev. Phoenix Bell-Shelton Biggs

WHY WE PLEDGE

Pledging allows us to:

• Plan responsibly
• Sustain staff and ministry leadership
• Fund worship and music
• Invest in children and youth
• Maintain our building as a space of welcome
• Support justice and outreach work

A pledge is not simply a donation.
It is a commitment to shared ministry.

How To Determine Your Pledge

We invite every household to participate.

You might consider joining us in Meeting the Moment by increasing your pledge by 5–10%, or by making a meaningful stretch gift if you are able.

We know that not everyone can give what they wish they could, and that conversations about money in faith communities can sometimes carry vulnerability, comparison, or quiet pressure. Please know this: your worth is not measured by a number. If it would be helpful, Rev. Phoenix is available for a pastoral stewardship conversation. You’re welcome to reach out at minister@uucv.org to set one up.

What matters most is faithful participation — showing up and meeting this Moment in the way that you and your family are able
