Are you looking for a safe place because of your race, ethnicity, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender, class, disability, beliefs, or other identities? As Unitarian Universalists, we affirm your inherent worth and dignity.
After a Borough Town Hall meeting in January dealing with racial inequity, racial injustice, and systemic racism in our community, the Carlisle Borough Council drafted a resolution proposing the creation of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to officially address these issues. You can find a link to the resolution by scrolling down on the homepage of the Borough website, www.carlislepa.org.
Also, on the Borough homepage under “Government > Borough Council”, you can find contact information for the mayor and Council members. On Thursday, March 11, the Carlisle Borough Council will be voting on this resolution and you are encouraged to contact them with your comments, hopefully in support of, the creation of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Thank you.
