Although we are unable to gather in person, the SPLC’s Black Affinity Group has prepared a special calendar of virtual events and resources throughout Black History Month. These resources are shared internally with SPLC staff, and we invite you to join us virtually for a variety of events that convey Black history, achievements and perseverance in many contexts.
It’s not uncommon for education to focus on slavery, segregation and other forms of oppression during Black History Month. However, our calendar uses a wider lens to explore Black excellence in all facets of life. We hope that you see not only the resilience of Black culture across time, space and hardship, but also the connectedness between Black communities and all of our communities and cultures.
