The Pride Committee is currently seeking volunteers for the 2023 Central PA Pride festival on July 29, 2023. Kim Stone is organizing a group of people who would like to be Silent Witness Peacekeepers. The Silent Witness Peacekeepers Alliance (SWPA) is an organization of gay and straight allies dedicated to providing a non-confrontational buffer between the LGBTQIA+ community and those who would protest LGBTQIA+ events. The Alliance protects everyone’s rights to free speech by providing visual protection using rainbow umbrellas as shields.

If possible, all volunteers must attend the training session: July 11, 7—9 pm, 704 N. Third Street, Harrisburg, PA

You’ll learn why we do what we do, who the protesters are and how to use the umbrella. Kim will be driving to the session and has room for three more people in her car.
