Shared thoughts

I’ve been working at home since March 16.  I have about 80% of everything I need with me, but I do make two trips into UUCV each week to take care of what I can’t do at home.

While I’m there, I do a quick walk-through of the building just to make sure everything is OK…no leaks, running toilets, breakins, etc.  I’ve done seven of these check-ins since I’ve been working from home and today, I had so many feelings come over me as I walked through the quiet hallways….opening doors to rooms left exactly the way they were when we left the building on March 13.  The feelings were especially strong in the Social Hall and Sanctuary.  It was a mix of peacefullness and sadness at the same time…if that makes sense.   it was comforting to see our spaces and yet sad to see them empty…waiting for us to return, to talk, and hug, and share our journeys with each other.

I’ll continue my walk-throughs into these empty spaces each week, but I can’t wait to open those doors and see all the comforting faces of everyone in our UUCV community.  I want to hear the noise, see the hugging, and sing with someone other than myself and ZOOM…especially now that I know what a bad singer I am when it’s just me, David and ZOOM!

I can’t wait to see you all again!!!
