Come Celebrate National African American History Month

The Robert C. Gaskill Library of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 409 North West Street, Carlisle, will celebrate National African American History Month on Sunday, February 23 at 3:00 pm.  The national theme for 2020 is “African Americans and the Vote”.

Colonel Larry J. McCord will be the guest speaker.  McCord is a graduate of the State University of NY and earned his Doctorate from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada.  He was commissioned in 2000 as a Medical Corps Officer and began active-duty service after completion of his Family Medicine Residency.  Colonel McCord served as the Commander of Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA from November 16 – May 19.  He is presently a resident student and member of the 2020 Class of the US Army War College, Carlisle Barracks.

Special music will be given by the community’s gospel chorus, UNITY, under the direction of Mr. Russell Ward.
