April 24, 2016 , 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us in our Yuuth Room to discuss Orphan 8 by Kim van Alkemade.  “A stunning debut novel of historical fiction set in the forgotten world of New York City’s Jewish orphanages.”  It is a story of a young woman, Rachel, who becomes a nurse and then meets the doctor who performed dangerous medical experiments on her as a child in a Jewish orphanage.  In 1919 medical experimentation on children in orphanages was a common practice. Through the compelling narrative story of her life we come to know Rachel and the choice she must make:  forgiveness or revenge. Kim will be with us for the discussion.  Question: Contact Richard Bronakoski at [email protected]
