I’m New

You Belong Here.
At the Unitarian Universalists of the Cumberland Valley, we believe every person carries inherent worth and dignity. We believe love is at the center of our faith, that our lives are transformed by community, and that together we can help care for one another and for our world.
Our mission is to transform lives and care for the world. We seek to live in accordance with that mission every day.
We are a community that celebrates joy, makes room for grief, asks honest questions, and keeps showing up for one another. We worship with music, silence, laughter, prayer, storytelling, and reflection. We work for justice because love calls us to act. We care for one another because none of us are meant to do life alone.
You don’t have to believe exactly what everyone else believes to be part of this community. In fact, you don’t have to have everything figured out at all. Bring your questions. Bring your hopes. Bring your doubts. Bring your whole self.
Whether you’re young or old, LGBTQIA+, straight, single, partnered, raising children, retired, deeply religious, spiritually curious, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here.
After worship, we hope you’ll stay for coffee, conversation, and connection. Introduce yourself. Ask questions. Let us get to know you. We would love the opportunity to walk alongside you as we seek to live lives rooted in love, compassion, courage, and hope.
Your Path to Connection & Membership
At UUCV, we believe that meaningful membership grows out of authentic connection.
That’s why we’ve created a simple path to help you get to know our community, build relationships, and discern whether UUCV is the right spiritual home for you.
The path has three steps:
Fill out a Connection Card so we can welcome you and help you stay informed.
Get Connected by participating in worship, events, small groups, service, and congregational life.
Attend a Membership Class to learn more about Unitarian Universalism, explore what membership means, and discern your next step.
There is no single timeline for becoming a member or getting connected. Instead, we encourage you to take the next step that feels right for you. So whether you’re just beginning to explore or you’re ready to become a member, we’re grateful you’re here and look forward to this journey with you.
Fill Out a Connection Card
We’d love to get to know you! Whether you’re visiting for the first time, returning after some time away, or looking to become more involved, filling out a Connection Card is the best first step.
It helps us stay in touch, answer your questions, and connect you with worship, events, groups, and opportunities to engage in the life of our congregation.
Get Involved
There are many ways to become part of UUCV’s life before becoming a member. Join us for Sunday worship, attend a social gathering, volunteer with one of our ministry teams, participate in justice work, explore a small group, or take part in classes and special events. We encourage you to build relationships, ask questions, and discover where your gifts and passions connect with our shared mission.
When Ready: Join UUCV
Our Membership Class is an opportunity to learn about Unitarian Universalism, explore UUCV’s mission and ministries, and discover what it means to become a member of our community. You’ll have time to ask questions, meet others on the journey, and discern whether membership is the right next step. Those who choose to join are welcomed during a special worship service by signing the UUCV Membership Book.
