Membership @ UUCV
Membership is about more than joining an organization; it is about choosing to belong. Becoming a member means saying, “This is my spiritual home, and I want to help shape what it becomes.”
At UUCV, membership is a commitment to a community where we practice our values together, care for one another, ask meaningful questions, and work toward a more loving and just world. You do not need to believe a certain doctrine or have all the answers. We are a community of many beliefs, backgrounds, identities, and life experiences, united by a shared commitment to grow together.
What Membership Means
Members are invited to participate fully in the life of UUCV to worship, learn, serve, build relationships, practice generosity, and help guide our congregation’s future. Membership also includes the opportunity to vote in congregational meetings and serve in elected leadership.
We ask members to support UUCV in ways that are meaningful and sustainable for them. That may include sharing your time and gifts, participating in the life of the congregation, contributing financially as you are able, and helping us live our mission: To transform lives and care for the world.
A Community We Build Together
There is no single way to be a Unitarian Universalist, and there is no single way to belong at UUCV. Some of us arrive with lifelong religious roots. Others are rebuilding a spiritual life after leaving another tradition. Some believe in God; some do not; many of us are still figuring out what we believe.
What matters is our willingness to show up with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to one another. Membership is one way of saying, “I want to be part of building this community not only for who we are today, but for who we are becoming.“
If you are interested in membership at UUCV, you are encouraged to reach out to our Minister, Rev. Phoenix Bell-Shellton Biggs. You can contact them at minister@uucv. org. They would be more than happy to talk with you and answer any questions you might have on the path to membership and beyond.
