Rev. Chris Kapp, Community Minister

Chris Kapp serves as our Community Minister, bringing a vibrant blend of spiritual care, artistic expression, and dedicated advocacy to our Unitarian Universalist congregation. Rooted in the core UU values of inherent worth, active compassion, and the pursuit of justice, Chris works beyond the church walls to build connections, offer pastoral and material support to our unhoused neighbors, and nurture spaces where every individual feels seen and valued.

Their ministry is grounded in the belief that spiritual community happens anywhere people gather with open hearts and intentional purpose. In her role, Chris focuses on community engagement, bridge-building with local organizations, and creating accessible spiritual care for those seeking help in complex times. Whether organizing collaborative community programs or holding space for honest conversation, their approach emphasizes deep listening, radical hospitality, and shared action.

Creative work forms an integral pillar of Chris’s life and ministry. With a rich background in the arts—spanning theatrical production, storytelling, stained glass, and fiber arts—she views creation as a spiritual practice that honors human experience in all its complexity. They frequently incorporate narrative, metaphor, and visual artistry into their  spiritual leadership, helping others discover their own creative gifts and tell their unique stories.

Outside of her formal ministerial duties, Chris finds daily joy and grounding in their  busy family, their tongue drum, and creating abstract stained glass sculpture. She invites anyone seeking connection, spiritual growth, or simply a thoughtful conversation to reach out and pull up a chair.
