Lynn Sodora has been a professional Unitarian Universalist religious educator for 23 years, having served two prior UU congregations in New Jersey before moving to Carlisle and joining UUCV as the Director of Lifespan Faith Development in January of 2023. Lynn also has a background in Finance, NJ Law, and Special Education, having served as a paraprofessional in all of those fields in the past. Lynn is dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for children and youth to be themselves, learn about our shared UU values, explore world cultures and religions, build and nurture connections with one another, and grow in their own individual spirituality

She is a trained Our Whole Lives (OWL) facilitator for Grades K through 12 and believes that OWL (a comprehensive, evidence-based sexuality education program) is one of the most important programs that UU congregations can offer. She holds Certificates in 5 areas of LREDA training (covering UU Identity, Worship, Administration, Teacher Training, and Youth Ministry) and has completed countless other UUA and LREDA trainings over her long career, including Pastoral Care, Right Relations, and Anti-Racism workshops.

Lynn is very involved with the regional Joseph Priestley LREDA Chapter, has served in various levels of leadership in the METRO NY and JP LREDA Chapters, and is currently serving as the President of the JP LREDA Chapter for the 2026-27 year. She brings a wealth of UU experience and knowledge to her service as UUCV’s DLFD, and has revived several traditional UU milestone programs and celebrations, such as the Coming of Age Program and Bridging ceremonies. As the DLFD, she is an active member of UUCV’s Safer Congregation Response Team, continually reviewing and updating congregational safety policies and procedures.

Lynn is a self-identified Pagan UU, with a special interest in Christo-Paganism. She enjoys planning and facilitating Pagan Circles at UUCV to celebrate the Turning of the Wheel of the Year. She is an avid reader who loves to travel and search for treasures in thrift stores and antique shops. Lynn has enjoyed living in the Cumberland Valley area since relocating from Northeast Pennsylvania 4 years ago to be closer to her daughter, Samantha, her son-in-law Jonathan and her grandaughter Kennedy; who live in nearby Mechanicsburg.
