Yes, I know. It’s just barely October, and there’s already a Christmas ornament in your inbox. Bear with me.
We all know how quickly these last few months of the year fly by—so now is a better time than later for us to start preparing music for our annual Christmas Eve service, scheduled (somewhat predictably) for Saturday, December 24 at 7:00 PM. And as always, we’ll want lots of music! How can you get involved?
- Our popular “one-rehearsal Family Choir” will return for the third year in a row. Interested singers of all ages, voices, and levels of experience will gather on the 24th at 4:30 PM in the Sanctuary to learn arrangements of two familiar Christmas songs, then take a break to allow for dinner, wardrobe changes, etc., before the 7:00 service.
- Instrumentalists of all ages and levels of experience are invited to join me in accompanying congregational singing. Just let me know what you play and how much experience you have, and I’ll get charts made up specially for you! (And if you have a special Christmas solo or small ensemble you’d like to share, let me know about that too and we’ll put you in the program!)
- Vocalists who have special solos or small ensembles to share are welcome to contact me too, whether or not you’d like to participate in the Family Choir too!
Drop me a line and let me know how you’d like to be involved! Except for the Family Choir, I’ll need to have your information by Monday, November 28 to include you in the planning.
Stay warm!
David
